Windsor Drive Community Update!

EXCITING NEWS FROM WINDSOR DRIVE COMMUNITY OPEN SPACE!!

Friends of Windsor Drive began fundraising for a defibrillator in June 2024 after Houghton Regis Town Council offered them the use of the old BT phone booth outside of The Brook on Windsor Drive to house it.

They ran 2 Coffee & Cake sessions with the support of Father Diego of All Saints Parish Church, raising a total of £480. Further to this, the Dunstable and Houghton Regis Labour Party donated £150 from their Cake sale at Houghton Regis Carnival and Cllr Chloe Alderman donated £600 from her 20% Pledge (Cllr Alderman gives 20% of her Ward Councillor income from Central Bedfordshire Council back to local causes).

These donations have allowed Friends of Windsor Drive to purchase the defibrillator which will be able to be run for between 3-5 years. The defibrillator pads will need changing each time it is used - Houghton Regis Town Council will take care of the utility costs going forward, and are presently working hard to have the defibrillator installed.

Keep an eye on the Friends of Windsor Drive Facebook page for updates on progress, when the defibrillator will be functional from and links to how to use the defibrillator in a heart emergency!!
